Cadence formed a year ago & in that one year, they have already played at Baybeats Festival as a Budding Band! Well, that is quite often the ‘be all and end all’ for a local indie-alternative rock band. But at the launch of its debut EP – Heights – at Hood Bar last night, there was evidence that the band might just have the potential to truly make a name for itself, not just in our indie music scene but even beyond our shores.
Packed to full capacity, Hood Bar witnessed the band’s energetic brand of emo rock with renditions of “Zara” and “Alive” the clear highlights for me. Bands like Cadence need the support and opportunity to develop to its fullest capability and that’s what it is fundamental that something be done to allow our indie rock band a chance to actively build a sizeable fan base that would hold them in good stead when they make the move abroad.
In the meantime, enjoy the music!
