The hype screams out “The Future of French Rock” and describes La Femme as possessing such edgy music influences as Gene Vincent, The Velvet Underground and Kraftwerk. But what about the music itself?
Well, it’s exciting, vibrant and hits all the right notes if like us, you appreciate off-the-beaten-track truly alternative retro-pop.
Although the band (Sacha Got / Guitar, Marlon Magnée / Keyboards, Sam Lefevre / Bass, Nunez Ritter / Percussion, Noé Delmas / Drummer and vocalist Clémence Quélennec) deal exclusively in French language songs, it’s the familiar strains of various classic rock stylings that will connect with music fans.
As their press release proudly states – “from synthpop to surf-rock to Stereolabish indie motorik, to near-baroque guitar picking, to faux-Morricone western soundtracks, to an almost pastoral psychedelia”.
Intrigued? Well, then check out La Femme at the *SCAPE Ground Theatre on 7th March 2017, when the band performs for the first time in Singapore, ably supported by our very own TOMGIRL.
