We were (and still are) quite mystified by this lineup. Cambodian Space Project is a psychedelic rock band, whose style is steeped in Retro-Pop and most of their songs are in the Khmer language! (Not quite the formula to draw in the local hipstas, eh?)

So how does this gell with the organisers selecting the collaboration of jazz-soul-centric bittymacbeth and electronic producer Evan Low as opening act? Would it have made more sense to get sympathetic rock bands instead e.g. Cashew Chemists or Space Days??

Perhaps it’s all about music eclecticism or maybe it’s about contrarianism – who knows? One would hope that the dynamic sound of CSP would be more than enough to bring in a feisty crowd.
