KayMac - The Fire of Love (ft The Analog Girl)

KayMac, the electropop alter-ego of singer-songwriter-composer Kevin Mathews. has released The Fire of Love, a collaboration with The Analog Girl, on Bandcamp.
The infectious number recalls the heady days of the early 1980s and is a tribute to synth pop pioneers like Gary Numan, OMD, Depeche Mode and New Order.

Mathews believes that the finished product is the result of his overcoming the fear of rejection as this is the first musical collaboration of his career, now numbering over 30 odd years.

“The Fire of Love is a song that I had written a couple of years with the intention of having a female singer provide vocals for it. I had approached a couple of singers I had admire but all of them turned me down for one reason or another. But I decided to remain patient. In 2021, thanks to the Lion City Rock podcast which I produce with Chris Toh, I managed to connect with The Analog Girl and deciding that I had nothing to lose, made my request to her. Thankfully, she agreed to collaborate and in the process sharing how we had almost collaborated more than a decade ago! Better late than never! The fabulous results were definitely worth the wait! I am so happy with this collaboration and I want to thank The Analog Girl for her wonderful vocal contributions!”
