Invasion Season 2 Ep 3 is the thirteen chapter of an American science fiction television series created by Simon Kinberg and David Weil. As stated in our analysis of Season 1, “the series features a high concept premise but fails miserably in terms of plot and characterisation – poor execution truly let down the intriguing premise.” Essentially, that intriguing premise involves an alien invasion seen through the different perspectives of various people on different continents across the world. However, despite this, the series was renewed for a second season and so here we are.
S P O I L E R S
Entitled “Fireworks”, Invasion Season 2 Ep 3, for the most part, emulates the slow-moving ponderosa narrative pace of the series by and large. However, finally in the third act of this chapter a game-changing event takes place that despite itself manages to create an engaging moment for the audience. Maybe because the pacing before that had been horribly pedestrian to the point of boredom that the contrast at the ending is so very stark!
Invasion Season 2 Ep 3 once again places Mitsuki Yamato in the centre of this game-changer as she figures out a way to disrupt the aliens’ cloaking device that has allowed them to go about the earth without detection. This is only possible of course due to the alien ship that was shot down at the end of season 1, which Yamato was also responsible for. Hopefully, this change in pace is not a one-off but continues to be develop as the series progresses.
Elsewhere, Aneesha’s worst fears are released when her daughter Sarah is abducted by the aliens, and presumably her quest to rescue Sarah will form a major quest of subsequent episodes. As will Trevante Cole’s attempt to decipher Caspar’s notebook at ground zero. More action needed! Promising, at last!
