Invasion Season 2 Ep 2

Invasion Season 2 Ep 2 is the twelfth chapter of an American science fiction television series created by Simon Kinberg and David Weil. As stated in our analysis of Season 1, “the series features a high concept premise but fails miserably in terms of plot and characterisation – poor execution truly let down the intriguing premise.” Essentially, that intriguing premise involves an alien invasion seen through the different perspectives of various people on different continents across the world. However, despite this, the series was renewed for a second season and so here we are.

S P O I L E R S

Entitled “Chasing Ghosts”, Invasion Season 2 Ep 2 follows exactly the same template as the previous episode – a chapter length set-up and catch-up with the various characters. This time round, we check in with Trevante, the soldier, and schoolgirl Jamil (back in England), the good friend of our resident alien whisperer Casper, who happens to be held in a Parisian hospital. That’s basically it! Like the previous episode, absolutely nothing happens, but this time there are no aliens to be seen and in fact, there is zero action whatsoever!

Invasion Season 2 Ep 2 recalls the Roy Neary character from Close Encounters of the Third Kind, with both Trevante and Jamil being drawn to solve the alien dilemma, despite the risk to themselves. Obviously, they are suffering from a kind of PTSD but having being touched by the alien psyche via Casper’s telepathic powers, this quest is not something that either of them can let go. And thus, can we assume that somehow Trevante and Jamil will be reunited somehow with Casper in the grand scheme of things? Everything seems to point to that eventuality.

Hopefully sooner than later, because at the moment Invasion Season 2 is turning out to be a massive bore.
