Halo Season 1 Episode 7 Analysis

Halo Season 1 Episode 7 is the seventh episode of an American military science fiction television series developed by Kyle Killen and Steven Kane for the streaming service Paramount+, based on the video game franchise of the same name. The series had been languishing in development hell since 2013 before becoming a streaming TV series, after failing to appear as a movie or traditional TV series. The first season will feature nine episodes, with a 2nd season already greenlit.

Entitled “Inheritance”, Halo Season 1 Episode 7 brings the focus and attention back on Kwan Ha and Soren. To be honest, we really don’t missing either character in the last couple of episodes. Kwan is an annoying Mary Sue if we are being honest, while Soren is like Rhodey to John-117’s Tony Stark – y’know sidekick material at best. That all said, to be fair, this chapter did at least provide some new information regarding the significance of Madrigal in the grand scheme of things.

Halo Season 1 Episode 7 picks up from where left off with Kwan and Soren. The former essentially besting the latter, with Soren returning to his base, licking his wounds and having to re-assert his leadership. For Kwan, it was all about finding a bunch of female mystics in the deep desert, whereby she encounters a challenge bound up in a fever dream and discovers that Madrigal is home to a portal of great importance. Thus, Kwan has to regain control of Madrigal in order to protect this important portal, whatever it does – which at this point is unclear.

Which brings us to a violent third act where Soren returns to Madrigal in time to help Kwan do exactly that. The action sequence as usual is intriguing to watch, at least, and though the duo overcome the odds, it is at least achieved in a manner that does not seem to incredible. Good fun overall, but what about John-117 and Matee, we need that episode next???
