A wonder to behold.
Wonder why anyone ever doubted Gal Gadot’s ability to bring the Amazonian Princess to life. The model turned actress is sheer perfection itself – athletic, charming and of course, beautiful. She illuminates every scene she is in.
Wonder why it took so long for a woman director to helm a summer blockbuster. On this evidence, Patty Jenkins (and other woman directors) should be given free rein to inject a huge dollop of heart to testosterone-charged superhero films.
Wonder why critics need to slam Zack Snyder in order to praise Wonder Woman. Fact is, Snyder and his wife Deborah produced this wonderful movie. Snyder’s artistic fingerprints are all over the film, especially in the action sequences. Credit where it’s due.
Wonder how Chris Pine managed to turn Steve Trevor from a fairly lame love interest/victim to rescue into genuine hero in his own right. His relationship with Wonder Woman is one that resonates.
Wonder how this Wonder Woman movie will tie in with Justice League. Well, don’t. This is not the MCU where everything has to make sense in the grand scheme of things. Which was why it was a relief that there were no obligatory post-credit scenes.
Wonder what Diana was up to in the hundred years between this story and her appearance in Batman V Superman. Now those are the Wonder Woman movies we would want to see made in the future.
A wonder not to be missed!
In the cinemas now.
… still there’s more …
