For All Mankind S02E10

For All Mankind S02E10 is the season finale of the 2nd season of an alt-historical fantasy TV drama series streaming on Apple TV+. Created by Ronald D. Moore (Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, Outlander), For All Mankind reimagines the space race of the 60s/70s as an alternate reality where the Soviet Union put a man on the moon before the USA resulting in continued focus on space well into the 1980s.

Entitled “Grey”, For All Mankind S02E10 dives deep into the Cold War conflict that had been building up over the course of Season 2. As the tension between USA and the USSA escalates, our beloved characters are sucked into the strife, directly or indirectly. The finale does an excellent job in presenting the dilemma over various scenarios.

We have the Jamestown confrontation as the Soviet Cosmonauts invade the US lunar base in search of their defecting colleague. Then Ed Baldwin commanding the Pathfinder as Ed and his crew challenge the blockage imposed by the Soviets around the moon. Finally, in the midst of all that chaos, the Soyuz-Apollo mission is somehow still going ahead as planned! There’s quite a bit of plot running through the season 2 finale but the viewer engagement is kept up high well.

Suffice to say that with all the potential for violence, death and mayhem derived from the tense scenarios painted above, it’s no surprise to consider that perhaps certain key characters might not survive the episode. Without spoiling the twists and turns of this season finale, it’s reasonable to expect a less than perfect outcome for all our characters by the very end.

It’s obvious that there is a sense of closure when season 2 concludes and that is confirmed by a significant time jump, which sets up Season 3 perfectly. In summary, Season 2 despite the occasional lulls has been as potent as Season 1 in its storytelling and characterisations. Looking forward to the future development of For All Mankind for sure!
