The Nearer The Fountain, More Pure The Stream Flows is Albarn’s second solo album and will be released by Transgressive Records on various formats on 12th November 2021. Already, the title track has been premiered online in June. Based on that and the release of the Royal Morning Blue video, there is a definite 80s pop vibe that permeates the new music.
Royal Morning Blue in particular could have been a track off David Bowie’s Let’s Dance or Roxy Music’s Flesh and Blood albums. There is an appealing synth-pop dance ambience about Royal Morning Blue that should get Blur fans especially excited.
