One day away! Two more artists you should check out!!

BJ & THE ASTRONAUTS

BJASTRO

A four piece r&b/soul band influenced by musicians such as D’Angelo, John Mayer, Pino Palladino and Jose James. Led by Ben Jacob Lee on vocals and rhodes keys, BJ & the Astronauts are characterized by groove heavy lines (Ben Mah on bass), powerful solos (Jon Tan on guitar) and soulful/funky rhythms (Eugene Lum on drums). Although fresh faces on the scene, BJ & the Astronauts aspire to push for the creation and dissemination of Singapore original soul music – as well as inspire like-minded musicians who feel the same.

OLIGARCHY

Oligarchy

The boys of oligarchy got together for the first time to play in front of a crowd of 10 and till date, they have played in front of hundreds.   Oligarchy broke into the underground scene in 2005, playing garage sounds. Like everyone else, the boys of oligarchy enjoy a plate of Hainanese Chicken Rice with their large “Teh-O Ice Limau”.   However onstage, the boys will slip into a trance playing the very music they love. Expressing their musical energy was made easy as the boys are always wearing their hearts on their sleeves and rocking it out to the tunes of alternative rock.  What do we sound now? Imagine “Pop punk + punk rock + aggressive grunge.” all mashed up.

… still there’s more …
