BAD SISTERS EP 6 (STORY ANALYSIS)

Bad Sisters Ep 6 is the sixth instalment of an Irish family crime drama cum black comedy streaming TV miniseries created by Sharon Horgen for AppleTV+. Set in Dublin, the miniseries is based on the Flemish series Clan, which was created by Malin-Sarah Gozin.

Entitled “Splash”, Bad Sisters Ep 6 brings us yet another failed attempt by the Garvey sisters to kill their horrible brother-in-law, John Paul. Initially, there is a bit of a lull as the unfortunate accident at the end of the previous episode cast on the pall on the entire murder scheme. Bibi is unable to deal with the situation – having herself lost an eye in an accident – and the rest of the sisters basically believe that the plan is done with.

But of course, John Paul continues to be an absolute prick, making life unbearable for anyone in his orbit, especially his wife Grace. Though it is hard to imagine, surely Grace will have to be involved in her sisters’ scheme to kill her husband, as he is truly doing his best to abuse her psychologically and emotionally. Meanwhile, Matt and Becka continue their romance despite its many conflicts, as the twists and turns carry on.

Bad Sisters Ep 6

The third act of Bad Sisters Ep 6 is really what makes this instalment worth watching. As the sisters execute their latest plan – to drug John Paul and drown him in the bath – once more it backfires as John Paul sleepwalks into driving his car to his boat at the seaside and falls into the sea! The hilarity ensues mainly because throughout this time, John Paul has no pants on (!) and the sisters’ response is mixed with horror and helplessness.

Bad Sisters Ep 6

In the final analysis, Bad Sisters Ep 6 achieves the impossible task of maintaining high tension even though we more or less know how things turn out. Or do we? Almost expected there to be twist in the final episodes where perhaps the sisters were NOT responsible for John Paul’s death? We shall see…
