Entitled “Baby Becka”, Bad Sisters Ep 4 finally includes youngest Garvey sister Becka into her sisters’ murderous conspiracy to rid the world of their brother-in-law, John Paul. As usual, the narrative does an excellent job in splitting between present and past events without sacrificing an iota of tension. No mean feat!

Bad Sisters Ep 4

Pilot
Of course, Becka herself had an awful incident with John Paul that justifies wanting to off him. For Becka, it’s the broken promise of financing her massage business. Nothing too shocking as John Paul is quite the douchebag. The sisters also discover what John Paul had done to Ursula in the previous episode, which only ramps up this desire to kill him. The main curiosity now is whether Grace (John Paul’s wife) is also somehow involved in the conspiracy. We suspect this revelation may come in the next episode.

In addition, Bad Sisters Ep 4 finally brings about an awkward confrontation between Becka and Matt as both discover who the other really is, in respect of the disputed insurance claim! This sets up a conflicted relationship between the pair as each will not be fully confident that the other is sincere and not merely trying to get an advantage in this scenario.

Characters
Becka (Eve Hewson, Bono’s daughter!) is in the spotlight this time round and she comes across as a bit of a mess. Never really making wise decisions in her life, which may unravel the whole conspiracy if she is not careful. Clae Bang as John Paul steals every moment he is featured in this series – deliciously detestable – now this is the way to portray toxic masculinity, in a credible manner.

The Final Analysis
Bad Sisters Ep 4 confirms that this miniseries is worth following. Highly recommended.
