Background
Hailing from Lincoln in the UK, B-Leaguers describe their energetic, crunchy guitar rock as ‘powerpoppunkrock’. Consisting of James Popdog – vocals, Ched Howard – guitars, Mikey Barraclough – bass & Mark Barrett – drums/percussion, the band have released its debut album, Death of a Western Heart.

Strengths
There is a laser sharp commitment to a sound that is deeply rooted in punk rock (of the melodic variety), rather than speed for its own sake. Though, tainted slightly by the atrocity that is ‘pop-punk’, there are enough references points to melodic-centric punk that somewhat saves the day.

Highlights
“Death of a Western Heart”, “Numbers”, “Rock and Roller Toons”.

Sounds Like
Symposium, Husker Du, Blink-182.

Bottom Line
For those who love a good balance of tunes and energy in their punk rock, this is for you!
