Ahsoka Part Three

Ahsoka Part Three is the third chapter of an American scifi space opera miniseries created and written by Dave Filoni for Disney+. It is part of the Star Wars franchise and a spin-off from the series The Mandalorian, taking place in the same timeframe as that series and its other interconnected spin-offs after the events of Return of the Jedi (1983), while also serving as a continuation to the animated series Star Wars Rebels. The series follows Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to the galaxy following the fall of the Empire. (Wikipedia)

Entitled “Time to Fly”, Ahsoka Part Three is split into two parallel plotlines. In the main, the story involves Ahsoka and Sabine (and Huyong) chasing after Morgan Elsbeth’s hyperdrive ring in orbit around the planet Seatos, while the minor sub-plot has Hera attempting to gain support from New Republic Senators to provide military support to the aforementioned duo. Let us get the latter out of the way first. As usual, the New Republic is depicted as utterly useless and frankly, this portrayal is getting boring and tired. Mon Mothma as the new Chancellor also seems to be powerless whatsoever to deal with real threats. So no support for Ahsoka. How the fuck did the rebel alliance win the war, with these kind of leaders???? Silly.

The main storyline is all action and chock full of nostalgic callbacks. From Ahsoka’s training of Sabine being reminiscent of Obiwan and Luke in A New Hope. Similarly, when the battle is enjoined with Elsbeth’s forces, Sabine mans the tailgun and once again memories are evoked of A New Hope. Star Wars tropes, presumably. The action all ends very quickly (Ahsoka Part Three is too short) with a stalemate of sorts the result. Hopefully, next episode is more interesting. Hmmm.
