The Crush is a Seattle power pop trio that isn’t afraid to list a whole bunch of old school (read: classic) rock bands as influences. The standouts for me? The Stones, The Jam, Teenage Fanclub, The Kinks and fellow Seattles power poppers The Fastbacks! On its latest EP, Future Blimps, the band delivers all the necessary ingredients to make tasty power pop viz. beaty rhythms, meaty guitars, catchy tunes and singer Kira’s appealing larynx as the cherry on top!
The five-track EP kick offs with the rollicking “Never Gonna Stop” and the trio keeps energy levels high throughout. With tracks like the jangle-y “Around”, the garage-y “Better and Better”, the sunshine-y “It’s Love” and the bounce-y “Nothing to Lose”, the agenda is clear viz. cool vibes, poppy fun and an ephemeral musical infatuation with songs that aim directly at the heart!
Future Blimps is available at Bandcamp from 21st June!

Sean: Sexual favors.
If you had to choose just three bands to watch at Baybeats, which bands would they be and why?
Sean: Two Million Thanks. .gif, to be fair these are two that I got to give a solid listen to — Two Million Thanks actually I heard a few months ago and it seemed so quirky and playful as a take on math rock.

We think if it’s possible people should watch every band performs as well as our band because we are the only band from Thailand and we have our own characteristics and uniqueness.
Why are you excited about playing at Baybeats?
We are very excited. It is a great opportunity that we do not get often to play abroad. Especially in Singapore where there are many indy music fans. We prepared for the show and would make it best.
Why do you think you were selected to play for Baybeats?
It could be about the uniquenss of our music. And some of our music might sound strength , new , creative but still easy to listen.
If you had to choose just three bands to watch at Baybeats, which bands would they be and why?
Ssighborggg, MONSTER CAT , .gif Those are 3 bands that we would like to see because the chance to see foreigner’s band is quite rare. So we would like to watch the bands that really stand out by their styles. We might get inspired or new things to know about.
