About under three years ago, I decided to retire from live performances after the dismal support given to my solo album, Present Sense.
Nothing in the time since has changed my mind about this, although I have in the interim released a couple of EPs online under the monikers “KayMac” and “RONDO VITALE” respectively to indifference.
But hey, this is the harsh reality of modern music making especially if you are an obscure 57 year old singer-songwriter. After all, if the guitarist of metal band Periphery can grumble about not making any money from the band, then what right do I have, eh?
So… long story short, this is probably where I wave goodbye as a recording artist altogether. Will continue to upload demos at various Soundcloud accounts but as far as the whole rigmarole of writing, recording, marketing and launching new releases – well, that’s over.
Not that anybody really gives a fuck but if nothing else, making it public in this way is always for my own benefit. Talk about echo chambers, eh?
But of course, I will still be making music – but not as a singer-songwriter – more as a composer. Hopefully, I will have better luck with that!
… still there’s more …
