Snowbird Productions proudly presents “The Ataris: Live in Singapore”. This will be the exclusive first ever performance of legendary American punk rock band on local soil. This event will be held on Tuesday, 22 January 2013 from 7pm – 9.30pm at the Boiler Room, St James Power Station. Plainsunset and Rancour will be opening the show.
Sixteen years of travelling the world, several broken down vans and five full length studio albums later, fans will be treated to performances from both their old and new albums. Tickets are priced $65 for a Early Bird and $75 for Standard tickets and can be purchased either online through Sistic or at the door.
The Ataris are four friends creating words and music in the basements and dive bars of the world, while young souls pile into the microphone and spill beer into their effects pedals. All their songs were recorded in one take, no edits, no overdubs, using vintage 1940′s ribbon microphones and a 1948 Gibson J-45 guitar. Honest stories and organic sounds, chock full of heart, sincerity and beautiful mistakes.
The Ataris are currently finishing up vocals for their new album The Graveyard of the Atlantic. The album will be released on the Gainesville, FL label Paper + Plastick. An actual release date will be announced and may even be available upon their arrival in January!
