The hype screams out “The Future of French Rock” and describes La Femme as possessing such edgy music influences as Gene Vincent, The Velvet Underground and Kraftwerk. But what about the music itself?
Here’s an update from The Grizzle Grind Crew!

Seems the number three comes heavily into play for Russian Red (aka Spanish singer-songwriter Lourdes Hernández) as she performs in Singapore for the third time, as the third act in Forefront Asia’s The Gathering series to support her third album, Agent Cooper.
Russian Red will be performing at The Ground Theatre @ *Scape on June 13, 2014. Tickets are available via Event Clique and are priced at SGD 50. Tickets will also be available at the door but priced at SGD 75.
Listen to Agent Cooper via Spotify.
When I told DARKSIDE (Nicolas Jaar & Dave Harrington) over the phone that I thought new album Psychic sounded like traditional rock, they were rather amused (and bemused, I suspect). And whilst, it is true that their improvisational performance style was somewhat experimental, it was not difficult to hear the echoes of Pink Floyd (Harrington did a fair Gilmour impression) and other psychedelic space-rock acolytes in the duo’s well-received set at the Ground Theatre *SCAPE on Sunday, 6th April.
*SCAPE is looking for bands/artists to showcase their music on its premises during the month of November and December 2012.
Where: *SCAPE (usually next to McDonalds but subject to change by the management)
When: Every last Saturday of the month
Time: Usually 6pm – 8pm
How many bands per event: 3
Set Time: 30 minutes per band plus 15 minute sound-check
– Must be Singaporean
– Must play originals (1-2 covers is fine)
– To showcase local talent
– As a platform for local musicians to experience and practice performing live in front of a public audience
– Bands need NOT be extremely good or polished as *SCAPE’s objective is to let amateur bands / musicians perform
Please send EPK to email@example.com
Friday nights at *SCAPE of late have become one of the best places to discover new, upcoming bands within the local music community. The night, however, was different, with 2 bands from Perth, Australia playing, and a stellar lineup of hardcore bands.
Information from the organizers –
One of UK’s most esteemed bands, The Charlatans, will perform a one-night-only concert in Singapore on Tuesday, November 23rd 2010, as part of *SCAPE’s Concert Series. This is THE concert not to be missed!
