SINGAPORE MUSIC SPOTLIGHT : BAILING OUT BETSY – MUTANT BUTTERFLY EP [REVIEWS]

Bailing out Betsy are a 5 piece alternative rock band heavily influenced by the music powerhouses of the 1990s – from Stone Roses to Radiohead, Kula Shakers to Oasis, Red Hot Chilli Pepper to Black Crowes.

90s rock fans will dig this collection of songs faithful to the era. Tracks like “Dirt”, “Sixty Years” and the title track are well-crafted with the appropriate vibe, even if the production could have been better.

Not sure about the viability of this kind of retro-rock in the context of the modern Singapore music scene but one would hope local fans of 90s rock would give Bailing out Betsy more than a casual glance.
