PoPTV | THE NEW ROCK N ROLL : THE RACHETS – “DOTARD ON THE DIAL”

The Rachets (Ashbury Park, NJ) sound like a cross between The Clash, The ‘Mats and The Hold Steady. Which is fine with me!

The band consist of Jed Engine (guitar / vocals), Zak Kaplan (guitar / vocals), Dan Desimoni (bass) and Kevin Conroy (drums), kicking up a raucous noise.

Commendable to discover that there’s a political thread in their rock ‘n’ roll machinations.

With lyrics like “You can hardly stand the morning TV shows/In that oval office sitting all alone/They’ve got your head on a platter/You think you’re tearing it up each and every day”, it’s pretty obvious who the target is!

Check out the music video for “Dotard At The Dial,” the second single from the band’s upcoming LP First Light.
