Trust the Aussies to get as close as anyone out there to get POP right. Melbourne trio KINGSWOOD (Fergus Linacre, Alexander Laska & Justin Debrincat) source liberally the deep well of old school soul-R&B to deliver sumptuous retro-pop.
With its new album, After Hours, Close to Dawn, KINGSWOOD proves it’s a part of a rich, rare lineage: risk-takers who refuse to acknowledge the easy boundaries that demarcate popular music. The Melbourne trio recently shared, “Golden” another taste of its sophomore album due out March 3.
“The video reflects the idea of a lonesome high, particularly in retrospect, using diving as the metaphor. I’ve often thought diving must be so exhilarating and euphoric but only really enjoyed by the few who pursue it. In a way, it reflects that ideas behind the song by representing elements of that feeling only you are left with after a specific emotional experience.” – Laska.
