Definitely, one of the highlights of the recently concluded Music Matters Live 2017 was catching Perth quartet Childsaint performing at the Timbre Substation.
The band has so far released a well-received EP – Sick – in 2014 and two brilliant singles last year viz. “Used Up” and “Hallelujah Heartache”.
It’s fair to say that the band’s fine musical balance between dream pop and grunge makes them one of the most distinctive 90s alt-rock channeling combos out there right now.
We caught up with Jane (vocals, guitar), Chloe (vocals, guitar) and Ashlyn Koh (drums) – Rhian (bass) had left Singapore already – yesterday for a casual conversation over coffee about beginnings, inspirations, the future and why they write such sad (albeit beautiful) songs.
