PoP RECOMMENDS | POWER POP ROCK N ROLL : ROGER JOSEPH MANNING JR. – GLAMPING

Yes, digital disruption and the rise of hip-hop resulted in the decline and fall of Power Pop Rock N Roll. But it’s okay, cuz the wonderful internet has also allowed our favourite artists to continue to make and release new music viable. Like Roger Joseph Manning Jr, for example.

Those of us in the know are fully aware of who exactly Roger is. As part of Jellyfish, Imperial Drag, TV Eyes and as a solo artist, Roger has made gorgeous pop-rock music that continue to stand the test of time.

Glamping is a new 4-track EP that Roger has made available via PledgeMusic.com and frankly, these amazing songs are a welcome addition to the Power Pop Rock N Roll canon in 2018.

The EP opens with “Operator”, a jaunty singalong number with an irresistible chorus. Guitars come to the fore on “Funhouse” as power pop authority takes control.

“Is It All A Dream” is a dynamic track that echoes the influence of Lindsay Buckingham – a smooth melody and tight rhythm keeps it all together well.

Finally, on “I’m Not Your Cowboy”, a heartfelt soulful ballad that recalls Eric Carmen brilliantly, Roger’s sophisticated songwriting shines through.

The highest recommendation! Go get Glamping now!!
