PoP RECOMMENDS | POWER POP ROCK N ROLL : CELSI, BRAGG & MAITLAND – THE ROAD TO GLASGOW [REVIEW]

Released in August this year, this somewhat overlooked gem is one of the finest examples of why power pop rock ‘n’ roll we love so much here at PoP will always be relevant and vital as long as folks like Celsi, Bragg & Maitland continued to make marvellous music like this!

Los Angeles pop-Americana artists Anny Celsi and Nelson Bragg teamed up with Dublin’s Duncan Maitland to form this high-energy, high-flying trio which has dug deep from the well of mid-60s goodness of The Beatles, The Beach Boys & The Byrds.

Songs like “Heavenly Day”, “She Belongs to Me” and the opening “The Second Summer of Love” set out the agenda perfectly well with catchy melodies, heavenly harmonies and memorable hooks.

Pop music as it should be made!
