Pop classicist Captain Wilberforce is back with a exciting new album, Black Sky Thinking.
We have been following the work of Simon Bristoll, the man behind Captain Wilberforce, since the debut release – Mindfilming – in 2004 and we are happy to report that this new album is as strong as anything the band has ever put together.
And guess what? It’s yet another example of how good the year has been for power pop rock n roll enthusiasts as the songs serve up massive dollops of edgy melodic guitar rock. The music recall the likes of Robyn Hitchcock, early Blur and XTC. Great company!
As usual, the range of styles is fairly eclectic within the scope of classic pop-rock music and will please the more sophisticated pop listener out there. Songs like “The Johnny Depp Memorial Cafe”, “Skin”, “Someone to Love” and the rest of Black Sky Thinking will keep pleasure centers fully satisfied throughout!
