(Press release)
Singaporean singer-‐songwriter Inch Chua has launched an online crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo. The campaign, which went live on 3 September, calls on fans and friends to lend a hand in funding the post-‐production stage of her upcoming album Bumfuzzle.
Best known for her larger-‐than-‐life passion and stark honesty – both in her music, and approach to life – Inch moved to Los Angeles in 2011, in search of new inspirations and exposure to the coveted North American audience. Since the move, she has performed at the prestigious South by Southwest Festival, Canadian Music Festival, and Music Matters Live in Singapore. More recently, she was in the musical rendition of theatre legend Kuo Pao Kun’s Lao Jiu.
The 56-‐day campaign aims to raise US$10,000 in return for an attractive assortment of rewards -‐ including a pre-‐release of Bumfuzzle, high-‐end earphones from Klipsch, exclusive prints from Lomography, limited edition tees featuring artist Amy Goh’s art, and even Inch’s first guitar. As the premise of the crowdfunding platform is all or nothing – if the targeted amount is not achieved, the campaigner receives nothing.
In the first 12 hours of its launch, the campaign has garnered support both in the region and the United States -‐ with more than 25% of the target achieved, and some rewards categories already fully claimed. The campaign ends on 28th October 2012.
