Fund manager Seok-woo and his daughter Su-an are travelling from Seoul to Busan onboard the KTX. But the train is overrun by zombies which kill several of the train staff and other passengers. Seok-woo is in the fight of his life to survive and to save Su-an.
A well-crafted story with engaging characters, realistic visual effects, genuine stakes and a heart-tugging conclusion. Seok-woo’s character arc is compelling and the change in his attitude reflects the film’s thematic thrust – when disaster strikes, do you leave your humanity behind for the sake of self-preservation? The third act is particularly enthralling and the audience is kept on the edge of their seats throughout.
Kim Eui-sung’s delicious performance as the villain – a brilliant manipulation of the audience’s emotions.
One of the best zombie movies in recent memory. Highly recommended!
Train to Busan opens on 4th August.
