When I first heard that SONY Pictures had put a stop to developing Spider-Man 4 with director Sam Raimi and star Tobey Maguire and decided instead to reboot the franchise completely with The Amazing Spider-Man I was skeptical about the idea as it had only been a decade since Raimi’s Spider-Man and I thought that it was much too soon (as did many many other geeks).

But slowly but surely with every subsequent trailer, I must confess that I have been warming up to Marc Webb’s vision of the ol’ web-slinger this time with Andrew Garfield as web-head and the popular Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy. In the latest trailer, we get to to witness some of Spidey’s trademark quips as well as a deepening of the mystery behind the disappearance of Peter Parker’s parents. However, i do feel that so far what I have seen of the villain of the piece – Lizard – leaves much to be desired. To be fair, all we’ve had till now are glimpses so perhaps it’s too early to judge.

In any case, we will certainly find out next week as The Amazing Spider-Man hits the screens on 28th June. Preview to come a couple of days before then. In the meantime, check out trailer #3 below.
