New Album Releases!
Police Teeth – S/t (Latest Flame)
(Riot Act Media Press release) Police Teeth’s flailing, wailing, angular songwriting has always been dark humor-laden, and track titles like “My V-4 Weighs A Ton”, “(My Baby’s Got The) Black Lung”, “Where’s My Fucking Hug?” and “Gifts, Knives, Adult Movies” are prime examples of the band’s signature lyrical and topical smirk. This record is no joke, however—these songs are heavy, pushy, fist-pumpy anthems with staying power.
Mean Creek – Youth Companion (Old Flame)
(Big Hassle press release) Boston-based indie rock quartet Mean Creek are pleased to announce the release of their sophomore album, Youth Companion. Released today via Brooklyn-based Old Flame Records, Youth Companion, an album that was recorded at 1867 Recording Studio by Chris McLaughlin, producer of Mean Creek’s acclaimed debut album, The Sky (Or The Underground), follows the band’s Hemophilac EP, a four-song offering produced by John Agnello (Dinosaur Jr., The Hold Steady, etc.) that was named “Album/EP of the Year” at last year’s Boston Music Awards.
John the Conqueror – S/t (Alive)
(From website) When a country boy walks into a big city bar and sits down for a drink-When a choir boy throws his robe to the floor of an hourly motel-When a Mississippi bluesman first hears rock and roll-John the Conqueror is born.
